Karimganj,08 April(HS): As a part of his one day tour to Barak Valley, Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal today visited Karimganj where the first positive infection of novel coronavirus was detected in the state and held a meeting with the Deputy Commissioner and other senior officers to take stock of the measures to prevent and contain COVID 19 infection in the district. The chief minister also reiterated on the need that while people should remain indoors during the lockdown period, there should be no shortfall of any essential commodities. He also asked the DC to ensure that the residents living all across the district should adhere to the advisory given by the health department and other line departments to maintain social distancing. He also asked the Deputy Commissioner to give special care for the tea garden areas and the workers and their family live there.
